What fees does the quote contain?
All Star Auto Shippers will calculate an accurate
quote based on a few factors. Rates are based on the
type of service (Ro-Ro or containerized). Quotes include
loading and unloading fees, documents necessary before
and during transport, and US customs clearance.
The only additional charge is for insurance that will be
added at the customer’s request. Because insurance is
not required during overseas international shipping, it
will not be included in the original quoted price. The
insurance will be a percentage of the stated value/worth
of the vehicle.
All international quotes are good for 30 days.
What countries does All Star Auto Shippers ship to?
All Star Auto Shippers can ship out of a number of ports
in the US to almost any country in the world. All Star
provides Door-to-Port service for all international
relocations. This means that a carrier will be assigned
to pickup the vehicle(s) form the designated origin
location. The vehicle(s) will then be transported to a
port for overseas international shipping. If a port is
local to the customer’s origin location, Port-to-Port
service is also an option. At this time, the origin
customer can take the vehicle to the port for drop-off.
How are vehicles shipped overseas?
There are two efficient ways to relocate vehicles
overseas. One way is with Ro-Ro (Roll-On Roll-Off)
shipping and the other is containerized. Ro-Ro shipping
is the more cost-effective form of overseas shipping for
single units. Containerized shipping is more beneficial
when transporting two or more vehicles and personal
cargo is allowed in the vehicle(s).
What is Ro-Ro international shipping?
Ro-Ro is a less expensive form of international
shipping. Vehicles that have wheels and are operable are
driven into a large ship that specializes in vehicle
overseas transport. The vehicles are stored below deck
and sheltered form the elements while the ship travels
overseas. This is a preferred method used to import new
autos for dealerships in the US.
What container sizes are offered?
Two main options are available for containerized
shipping. The type of container depends on the number of
units being relocated and the size of each unit. There
are 20ft and 40ft containers. Customers can pack
personal cargo into vehicles that will be shipped
containerized (Please note: there will be restrictions
for vehicles with personal cargo being shipped from
California). Containerized shipping will generally be
more costly than Ro-Ro shipping. This cost difference is
for the use of a provided container and consent to
transport personal belongings.
